Weekend Plans

The weekend is off to a flying start, we have awoken today with daylight at 6.15am and although at the moment there is a hard frost on the ground the sun is already shining, (it's now 7.30) and a warmth is building up nicely.

There are lots of jobs to do the main one for LH is finishing the raised beds at the back of the house. We have three more to go in, and that may be accomplished when the earth thaws out a bit. In the meantime he is topping up the other six with some more soil, as this has all settled down dramatically from when they were first filled a couple of weeks ago.
#
Soon our new friend 'the Worm Man' will be here to discuss 'wormy business' another chapter in our earning money from the land enterprise. Before he gets here I need to plan out my stall for tomorrows Craft Fair, lots of lovely handmade soaps to be displayed (the kitchen is smelling divine at the moment). And then pack it all away so I can make a quick getaway tomorrow.
#
Then this afternoon we are off to pick up our 10 new residents, some Speckledy Chickens. So I must fit in getting their new house ready as they will be confined to quarters for a day to get them used to where they live.

I foresee a chicken post coming next....!!

  6. I must dig over my raised beds - add some compost then get me some seedlings !

The Farmers' market is coming to our village for the first time today so I'm off for a mooch.

Can't wait to see your new girls - hope they settle in OK.

I'm cooking a Haggis for friends tonight - a sort of belated Burn's eve. First I have to catch a Haggis.....
