For the last few weeks of hot, hot day and night time temperatures the Aga was off and the gadgets were out.
The rice cooker was in use most days.
The soup maker was in use most days.
The Remoska in use every day.
The microwave did it's usual stirling back-up job.
This week the rain is falling non-stop, the temperatures have plummeted, the builders have had to pack up early yet again due to the most violent thunderstorm and torrential rain. Rosy is quivering in her Thunder Jacket she's really scared of thunder and lightening, so I'm joining her on the sofa for an afternoon movie and some snuggle time.
Oh ... and the gadgets are back in the cupboard .... we needed the warmth of the Aga.
It warms the house, dries the washing, gives a scared dog something to stand against when Mum leaves her for a few minutes ... and come teatime it will once again be doing the cooking.
Luckily I can now bring it back up to temperature with the solar panels powering the return to full heat capacity and it doesn't cost us a penny.
Hope the weather's better where you are.
Sue xx
What is a Romoska?
ReplyDeleteYea, what is Romoska?
DeleteIts heavy showers on the Essex coast but its very humid. The temperatures are 19-20 most evenings. The bedroom is too hot! The garden is loving the wet and warm weather but do are the weeds ;0(
DeleteFor more information on Remoska look at the Lakeland website, this is where we got ours from many years ago. It seems to have had a bit of a revamp since we got ours but it does just the same job.

Contrary to the weather forecast Sue, it has been a lovely, hot day here in North Yorkshire. I am having a day out tomorrow, what's the betting it will be wet?
ReplyDeleteHot and humid but that is Florida most of the year though we are having unusual rain patterns. I hope the dog will be okay. Stay warm...
ReplyDeleteWas very tempted by a smoothie maker the other day. Till I realised what a waste of money it would be.
ReplyDeleteSo far the gadgets have stayed in the cupboard here, however after the rain we had starting Monday it is really humid and I am considering pulling them all out.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
Aga….love it, and it irons as well! Wet and wetter here this week!
ReplyDeleteHere in South West Scotland we have only had two very light showers in three weeks and it has been hot to very hot.............I'm so tired of watering and guess who put in fifty two saplings this spring all needing watered..Jessica
ReplyDeleteI too wondered what a Remoska is?? Having so much heavy rain in Stockport presently, even flooding in some parts. Yes it is good growing weather, wet and warm - the weeds are coming on a treat!! Kind regards, Louise S, Cheshire.
ReplyDeleteOur Aga is off now but we do have a Rangemaster cooker for the summer...trouble is that I keep forgetting to switch it on and off again!
