Brrrrr......

It's a winter wonderland here on the farm at the moment, NOT the time to come down with a stinker of a cold, but there you are.
~
In a minute I will be wrapping up in even more layers than usual and braving the elements to thaw the animals water troughs out and take them their breakfasts. I hope they appreciate me risking double pneumonia for them!!
~
When I return to the warmth of the house after walking the dogs through the snow I will be continuing my research into Vegetarianism. I'm loving what I'm reading and finding out at the moment, although there are lots of gory details pertaining to American slaughter houses I wish I had never found out about!!
~
If any of you out there know of good reading to do with making the switch to complete vegetarianism I would love some recommendations. At the moment I am reading Alicia Silverstones book 'The Kind Diet', brilliant stuff and I love that she doesn't preach at you!
~
Hot coffee and a good book (and a big box of tissues), you can't beat it on a cold snowy day.

  2. I was a vegan for 6 years and nearly disappeared, so any vegan cookbook should do the trick ; ) Lots of colds though...

I reckon my six year old could beat that Alicia at arm wrestling... which is strange because vegetarian diets tend to be pretty fatty.

  3. Sue for veggy and vegan recipes check out PETA's website , vegan planet, vegan village.
We turned veggy in 1986, vegan in 2002 and really enjoy our food; it's just a case of finding what you really like. Rose Elliot has great books too.

  4. Try Yotam Ottolenghi's book Plenty. He writes a weekly vegeterian coloumn in the Guardian and we've followed his recipes many times. We enjoyed them so much we got his book.
