It has opened my eyes to the rising costs of food, it made me stop and think, it made me remember my past, it made me new friends. But most of all it made me thankful. Thankful that I don't have to live like this day in day out. That I no longer have to scrimp and save (other than by choice).

Thank you to all those of you who sponsored me (there is still time if you want to click on the picture on my sidebar and follow the steps). This Challenge runs all through May to coincide with Christian Aid week. There are many charities you can chose to raise money for, each one of them doing their bit to try and alleviate poverty both in this country and around the world.

My first foods after finishing the Living Below the Line were a bowl of Oatban porridge and a glass of chilled Sparkling Water, I have simple tastes and if I did it again I would do it differently to accommodate these. If I do it again there will be no buying of cheap processed foods, I would go for quality rather than quantity, freshness rather than dried foods and I would have waited two weeks until I had more of my own homegrown foods available. If you buy a packet of lettuce seeds you get ovoer 500 lettuces for £1 (and you are allowed to buy off yourself so that would make a lettuce just 0.2p = that means you can have 5 for 1p). Follow this principle through and you can eat very well and very cheaply.

Hugs Lynn xxx
Hi Sue
ReplyDeleteSorry to be a pain.
I made my sponsor a pledge so should I just send the amount...bit confused...should have just handed over the bank details.
Hope you enjoy your time away.

Hi,
ReplyDeleteLynn - I lost 3lbs in the first 2 days and then gained it back and some more by the end. None of the food was 'high energy' it was nearly all carbs which although they give you a quick boost of energy at first turn to fat very easily in your body if you eat too much. They make me pile on the pounds. I need a high protein, low carb diet to be healthy.
Sft - The 'Pledge' is just a promise to pay the sponsor money at the end if the Challenge is completed, so just go the the fundraising page and use your credit card to make the payment. Thanks.
