Rainy Day Amusement

It's raining, it feels like it's been raining forever  :-(

Yesterday for a few brief hours the weak Winter sunshine shone and we walked the dogs along the prom in Llandudno.  The wind was bitterly cold but the sunshine gave us a feeling of it not being too bad, even though as the walk progressed the tips of our noses and ears turned redder and then bluer as circulation was lost.

Lovely Hubby said 'wouldn't it be nice if this lasted for a few days' ..... I just looked at him!!

Every single time I have thought this to myself and planned jobs to do the next day the rain has come back ... as it did yesterday within an hour of us arriving back at home.

Outdoor jobs were cancelled and Lovely Hubby watched his rugby match and dozed on the sofa with the dogs for the afternoon and I took myself to the spare room to watch my latest box set on the little television we have in there.  Although it's not connected to our Freesat dish like the main TV, we can use this one for Dvds which means that when the thing I hate most in the world sport, comes on the television and rugby is one of the few things that LH watches, I can at least still have some relaxation and watch something myself.

Mavis joined me on the bed and we drank coffee, ate biscuits and had a bit of girly time ... watching vampires, werewolves and ghosts  ;-)

These pictures have absolutely nothing to do with this post, I accidentally took the top one when I put my camera on the shelf in the kitchen forgetting to turn it off first, it looked quite kooky .... so I took some more at a similar level.

Rainy day amusement ..... you have to grab it when you can.

  2. Glishy sun, torrential rain, glishy sun, torrential rain - and so on throughout the day today. Oh and a very cold wind.

  3. It's actually dry and sunny here today but still cold; we had ice until lunchtime. The first snowdrops are beginning to appear, at last! First signs of spring x

  4. Send some of the rain to Texas, as we are needing it. No drought yet, but we do need the rain.

  5. Cold and clear here, but not too cold, started our morning walk all bundled up and had to take most of it off.

  6. When I saw the title and then the first picture I thought that you were going to say you'd counted up the number of pieces of pasta in a bag for something to do! Am very glad it was just a kooky picture instead :)

  8. Hard to believe, but jar contents have filled many a blog posts. And it's interesting, too.

  9. We've had a lot of rain here, too, making it hard for me to get out and while today was sunny, it was cold...What DVD did you and Mavis watch?

    1. I'm currently working my way through the box set of 'Being Human'. It's five series long and I'm on for series four.

  10. Be so nice to have a few dry, sunny days in a row instead of the odd one amongst the days of rain and wind! Thankfully neither hubby or son watch sport.. hope you and Mavis enjoyed your girly time. Out of interest what did you watch because it sounds like my kind of thing :o)

    1. We are watching 'Being Human'. The werewolf is obviously not very realistic as Mavis didn't think much of it, she usually watches any animal programme intently but once she'd eaten her biscuit she went to sleep :-)

    2. I've not watched that, will have to give it a look. Haha Mavis knows what's real and what's make believe :o)

  11. There is still a silver lining then when the rain comes down! Even though you must be champing at the bit to get things done. I am definitely with you over the viewing though. DH has his 'big tv' in our large dining room where there's enough room for a couple of fireside chairs. I claim the sitting room dubbed the 'snug'. My room is a completely sport free zone and the tv is rarely on, instead I have a whole wall of bookshelves and it's lovely to retreat in there and just lose myself!
