I went into our woods this morning to see how much damage the winds of the last few days and nights had done. It was very slippy underfoot so I was carefully looking downwards to take care where I put my feet, I was surprised to see this.
It looks just like a little door at the base of the tree ....
... further along the track I came to this one. Most definitely a door and two little windows. It seems our woodland has been occupied by little people.
I hope the folk that live in this one have paid their Council Tax they seem to have put out their Wheelie Bins for collection.
Aren't they all lovely, I hope to meet the little occupants one day but up to now they have all been too shy to make an appearance.

Aaaw! I sort of hoped The Borrowers had set up camp!! (Mrs L H)
ReplyDeleteWhat day is it today?:-)
ReplyDeleteI had thought about putting some fairy doors on some of our trees for the grandkids to find, they are so sweet :-)
ReplyDeleteI read an article about this earlier this month. The woodland trust said they are a lovely addition if applied to the tree properly.I believe they are worried the trees will be damaged. Nevertheless, I think they're cute. I went to the Isle of Man as a child and they are very 'Fairy' and 'Elf' minded people and very superstitious. This is right up their street.
ReplyDeleteWhat a delightful April Fool post, Sue. Very cute.
ReplyDeleteAs long as not too many fairies end up living in a small area. Apparently some fairies had to be evicted for contravening planning permission in a wood near me here in Somerset as there were too many of them and some of their homes were not in keeping with their neighbours'!!!
ReplyDeleteNice one Sue, wish I had fairys they could help me look after the veg plot at night when I'm in bed ha ha
ReplyDeleteIf only!! I love the little 'wheely bins'.
ReplyDeletea fun post.
ReplyDeleteI knew ther were little people in the woods. Such cute houses.
ReplyDeleteRosezeeta.
Very cute - kind of Alice like. I agree, let's hope the trees are not being damaged and that these stay an unexpected surprise rather than a common sight and a nuisance. Love your images.
ReplyDeleteAh Ah - you really had me there I had forgotten the date!
