Gosh it's been a busy day today, but I just had to jump on the computer and record for posterity and as promised, show you what the house looks like now that the painting is all finished and the scaffolding is down. I even managed to stand in pretty much the same place as yesterday's photo :-)
The first one is from the front (sorry it's a smidge blurry) .....
... then this one is the side ....
... and then round at the back it looks like this.
This wide shot shows the conservatory side of the house.
Now it's the fun for me bit of adding back all the things that I like and softening the edges of this new grey look. The first step after hosing down and sweeping all around the house yesterday was putting the plants back by the front door .... there, you can't beat a bit of green :-)
Sue xx
looks lovely

ReplyDeleteIt is lovely. i absolutely love the gray and black..brillant!!
ReplyDeleteStunning! Fresh and so easy to maintain.
ReplyDeleteIt really looks lovely. The grey against the green trees - or the greenery against your entrance area - is such a nice contrast.
ReplyDeleteThis is lovely !
ReplyDeleteReally beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI love the grey - very classy looking. One question - I know how much you love green, especially a light, bright green - did you give any consideration to painting your front door something along this line, or any other bright colour as a contrast? I've always wanted a grey house with a bright pink door. The house and your grounds look amazing - a real testament to all the hard work that you and your husband have put in to your home.
ReplyDeleteThe door is upvc so it has to stay white really, at least it matches the windows 😊
DeleteLovely colour!
ReplyDeletewow! congratulations! you did a great job, it looks fabulous!
ReplyDeleteWow looks amazing. What a change from the old colour and sets off the plants at the front door.Enjoy the makeover. You've both worked very hard to get to this stage. :)
ReplyDeleteI'm with you....a little bit of green works wonders near the entrance to a home. Loving the new colour.

ReplyDeleteOutstanding! What a makeover!! All that hard work, disruption, setbacks, headaches and frustration has paid off in spades. Congrats. You've really put the place to rights and I'm sure the rest of the community join in celebrating with you. Well done you two.
ReplyDelete30 years ago when we first came here, your house looked very sorry for itself. The mole catcher who lived there had been on his own for some time. The kitchen was a damp lean-to. Well done, you have breather new life into the place. Now sit back a little and ENJOY!!
ReplyDeleteThanks Mary. xx
Deletegorgeous! And well worth the wait xxx
ReplyDeleteLovely! That shade of gray is just perfect against the lighter wall and the darker trees.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing the transformation with us. I've really enjoyed seeing it!

ReplyDeleteAbsolutely lovely - you are now on to the exciting bit as you say.
ReplyDeleteSue, it's gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteYou've done a fantastic job, and it's always lovely to see a neglected house become loved and cared for again! For me, the grey is a bit of a darker shade than I would have chosen, but I guess with the contrasting green surroundings it will work; will you be training any climbing plants up the walls? Having said that, my house, garden and surrounding trees are getting swamped by ivy so I would not advise getting that!
ReplyDeleteLove your blog, and look forward to reading it and seeing the photos.
I like ! Very much and I am not a fan of grey. It makes the windows pop. xxx...x
ReplyDeleteIt looks great and your view of the surrounding area is beautiful.
