Polytunnel Prepped....

At last the polytunnel is prepped and ready for action. As you step in the front doors you see to your right, the last few remaining herbs, and in the far beds the skeletal remains of a couple of plants I am trying to nurse back to health.

To your left you see in the near corner the leek bed, still growing away well. Slowly but surely is the motto for plants growing over the winter. On my new potting bench are bags of compost and trays already for action. Looking back from the far door you can see the neat beds all warming up ready for the seedlings and a better view of the leeks.

I must say I do like it when it looks like this, all neat and ready for action with the promise of things to come. I like it even more when the first shoots start poking through the compost and you know you are on your way.
This week will be spent planting seeds in trays and toilet roll tubes. So many people have been saving these for me and it works a treat, I'll post a few pictures once I've sprung into action.
Valentines weekend was lovely we went for a gorgeous meal at The Fallowfields Country House Hotel. The food was lovely and the service perfect, a real treat. We exchanged cards on Saturday night when we got back, and LH's pressie?
Well, we have been joined here on the farm by Edmund, a very boyish bear, handmade by Nicky at The Vintage Magpie Luckily LH didn't think I was mad buying him a bear for Valnetines Day, Rosy the Jack Russell however, is desperate to sink her little sharp teeth into him, so we will have to place him carefully out of reach!!

  2. Well done you. I really need to get going in the polytunnel as I can't do anything in the garden seeing as it is still under several inches of snow. Ho hum - tomorrow maybe as I need to go take the dog to the vet now for her jabs.

  4. Hi, just wanted to say what an inspiration you are! I have just ordered my first polytunnel and after seeing how good yours looks I can't wait to get going.

  5. Thanks to your inspiration, I did get some digging done in the PT yesterday - no chance today though. I've been busy all morning and I was up 'til 3am helping a ewe to lamb. Any spare time today (lol) will be spent studying the back of my eyelids.
