A Farm Without Straw!!

The Kune Kunes fancied a spot of housework yesterday and decided a fitted straw carpet would be good in their room in the barn, so they took apart the last of the bales that were stacked in there and spread them about.

Feeling the need for some ornamentation they then tipped out the huge bags of logs that we also have in there and dotted them around the room, the trough was upended and buried in the straw so come feeding time I had to search for it.

It's hard work being a Kune Kune, to have to do all that to make your room nice AND then lie in the weak March sunshine ...........

In the picture it looks like butter wouldn't melt.......but remember these are what some folk advertise as Micro Pigs......imagine leaving one indoors and then going shopping for a couple of hours what would you find on your return (and they CAN open cupboards by the way!!).

They are super intelligent though and now know quite a few words, namely - Trough, Back, Pig Pig (that means come here) and Down, so on the communication level we are getting on very well!

I wonder if 'tidy your room' will ever be learnt?

  1. They're beautiful! I had hoped if our house in the country worked out we could get kune kunes, But it didn't. (yet) If you can train them to tidy their room, I'd be willing to swap you for my boys! lol. They still struggle with that command!

  4. Pigs are as intelligent as dogs; so if you can first train your dogs to clean their room why not the piggies?!! (he he he!)

  13. Those little pigs are so cute. We've had our neighbors pigs come onto our property and I know just what a mess they make... ahhh but the best potash comes along with it.. and those cute little piggies. My boys would love squishing in all that mud you have over there. We are looking for a farm in the S. France.
