You've Got To Love a Carrot ......

You've got to love a carrot ..... that can sit up all by himself :-)

The beauty of homegrown vegetables is that you never know what you are going to pull up or snip off next.  All this little chap needs is some googly eyes and he'd be a perfect little pet .....

... or he would have been if I hadn't eaten him with his other little tasty friends for tea the other day.

  1. Don't you just love the funny veg. I've had some wonderful 3 legged carrots and some that were a little more 'oh I say' if you understand my meaning! My grandchildren have loved pulling up the vegetables

  4. Carrots are always full of surprises. That's quite tame for a carrot. I've seen some humdingers.

  5. I made green tomato chutney last night from your recipe. It's very tasty. I couldn't bring myself to chop up one of the green toms. Let's just say it was definitely an excited male but with no dangly bits! It's sat on the kitchen worktop now.

    2. I was just thinking, when I saw your picture of the carrot, that it would have been an ideal entry for John's competition!!

  9. A few days ago, you suggested I make a colourful coleslaw with my half red cabbage which a neighbour had given me. I made it tonight and it was really delicious; red cabbage, finely chopped onion, grated carrot (a straight one!), grated apple, natural yogurt and mayonnaise. My husband added balsamic vinegar to his. Absolutely delicious! x
