I was going to de-clutter the mantlepiece today as part of my journey round the house clearing surfaces. Taking the photo the other day when I was talking about my favourite shade of green made me notice how it had filled up with things over the last couple of months. Funny how you don't notice things on a day to day basis but can see things through fresh eyes in a photograph.
But it will have to wait, I've been stopped in my tracks this morning it has suddenly filled up even more ....... with Valentines cards.
My Lovely Hubby is cooking a meal tonight, what it is I have no idea, he's shopping on the way home from work, he has been given special dispensation to shop outside of our £2 Housekeeping Challenge budget, just the once mind, I can't have him going mad.
So if you notice a slightly bewildered man in a very smart suit wandering aimlessly around Sainsb*rys with a basket over one arm late this afternoon, take pity on him he doesn't very often go into supermarkets unescorted by someone who knows their way around.

Happy Valentines Day to my Lovely Hubby.
If I could grow you a tree it would be just like this one.

Ha Ha your husband sounds like mine. Wandering aimlessly around a supermarket. I hope you get a nice meal.
ReplyDeleteI have my fingers crossed :-)

The "can't have him going mad" comment made me laugh. Oooh, I wonder what he's going to get... can't wait to find out. Maybe a shortbread heart - I KNOW you'd love that! xx
ReplyDeleteHaha...I would, but no doubt his poor little mind will go completely blank once he hits the supermarket!!

How lovely, we don't do valentines in our house but I love reading about others romantic stories. I hope he cooks you something wonderful xx
ReplyDeleteSo do I.......but whatever he makes it's the thought that counts.

We don't do Valentines here either, but it sounds like you are going to have a lovely evening. :)
ReplyDeleteI hope so, it's a bit of role reversal here today, in that he's cooking the meal and I've bought him flowers :-)

Awww, all loved up. We never celebrate Valentine's Day. I wonder what your meal will be tonight. Mick's a better shopper than I am, he always looks for bargains and deals, and knows the prices of things we buy regularly in one shop compared to another.
ReplyDeleteMy friends husband was a brilliant shopper, he used to visit T*sco on the way home from work nearly every night and fill his basket with 'yellow stickered' bargains, she never knew what she was going to be presented with each evening.

No Valentines day stuff in our house either. Does LH know that half of Blog-land is waiting with bated breath to know what he's cooking?!
ReplyDeleteHave a gorgeous evening!
Lol....I won't tell him until after, I can't have him under too much pressure......although he might notice when I take a photo of it :-)
