When Your Husband Tries to Block Your Escape

I woke up this morning to a bit of a shock .... where was our tipper trailer?

Looking lower down from the bedroom window I saw it ...... it had rolled down from it's usual parking spot in front of the net tunnel to just in front of the gates.  Luckily our land has been contoured under the tarmac to allow for maximum water run off (it's all caught in the soakaways), so it didn't continue on its journey and crash into the house .... it's pretty heavy at the moment as it has a load on board of large blocks!!

Maybe Lovely Hubby should try applying the handbrake next time he's finished using it ... or at the very least put a brick behind the wheels, which is what I've done now so it doesn't roll down any further and completely block the gates.

Luckily I drive a small car so I can fit out of the gate space left to me ... nice
try darling but you can't keep me a prisoner that easily   ;-)

  2. Oh Sue, this did make me laugh. I don't suppose he will ever do it again.

  4. Our next door neighbours mum called to see her daughter last week, and left her car on their drive. She hadn't put the hand brake on and while they were in the house drinking coffee, mum's car rolled forward and scraped down the side of her daughter's car, leaving quite a scratch!
So, I think you were very lucky not to have had any damage caused!

  5. You took that remarkably well Sue! "Words" might have been said in many households! Fortunate it didn't damage anything else, or itself, on its little adventure! I'll bet he thought he'd put the brake on - I got a message from a friend who'd just flown off on a two week holiday, asking me to check their front door - husband had no memory of either alarming the house or closing the door. Well, he'd done both, but it is easy to be distracted.

  7. Glad there wasn't a disaster to anyone or anything. That happened to us once. The hand brake slipped on our car, luckily we lived in a cul-d-sac and our car ended up in the neighbour drive opposite. No damage to their car luckily.
