Be In The Moment

I was sitting outside the polytunnel, chopping up the toilet roll inners, anything for a 10 minute sit down out of the 30 degree heat of the tunnel and I was totally amazed at the number of cars that go by with the passengers heads down playing with their phones.

WHY .... we live in one of the most picturesque parts of this lovely country ..... drive through and drink in the view. Be in the moment, enjoy your journey.  You might not be passing this way again, even if you are things change from hour to hour, from day to day.

I live here and drive, or am driven by Lovely Hubby, on these roads day in day out, week in week out, and yet still we both marvel at these surroundings on EVERY journey.

The sit down in the sunshine was nice, but now it's back to work.  Forty Sweetcorn seeds were planted in one of these trays ... now there are two more to use up.

    1. Haha.... that would be nice, but no ... we have both been doing this for a couple of weeks now. Slow but sustainable weightless, eating real foods. I've been slightly knocked off course with Live Below the Line as bread and white rice don't seem to agree with me.

  3. I know what you mean. Im a driver and I always see something new when ever Im out in the car. I also love observing the changin of the seasons along my regular route as well. As for those playing with their phones they make me soooo mad, the needless number of accidents and road deaths caused by people being distracted by their phones (worldwide) is just insane. When Im driving my phone is in my bag and people know if they contact me I wont answer until I get to where Im going. I think the penalties should be much toughter than they are, an instant £100 fine would maybe make people think twice.

  4. Well done on the weight loss. People using mobile phones whilst driving is far too common something more need to be done. Perhaps have your phone confiscated as well as the fine.

  5. We had someone staying with us who insisted on sleeping every time we went on a day out. We were driving through spectacular scenery, which was an essential part of the day out..no, she wanted to sleep. She was only interested when we stopped to picnic or barbeque!

    1. I have known people to sleep because they feel traverl sick. They miss such a lot but I guess it's understandable or maybe she was jetlagged. Good to know she was excited about vegan picnics and barbeques!

  8. I would be stopping to admire that view and the changing weather multiple times EVERY day if I lived there!! People miss so much real life because they think they might be missing a tweet or some such!! Madness.
