Simply that ....

I've given up explaining,  and not all questions that are asked need answering.

You take me as I am.

Simply that.

  1. Good for you. Normal is overrated.

  2. Hi Sue my name is Carla and your blog today just set my mind at ease. I need to print out those in big posters and hang them on my wall. I so needed them today.
    Thank you so much.

  3. Why be like everyone else when you were born to stand out?!

  4. I’ve now developed a strategy for the (many) occasions that people make intrusive, unkind etc comments. I say “thank you for sharing your opinion, but I am only affected by people for whom I have respect”. My other answer when anyone tries to patronise me is, “I know my own worth, thank you”. If I’m feeling really sarcastic ( and being Scots that’s a lot of the time) I say “Wow, I nearly fell off my unicorn” and smile as I do it. Older age brings so many benefits, the main one of which being I really don’t give a s**t.

  5. I don't think I have ever met anyone normal in my whole life. Everyone is so different what can normal be - just stay as you are Sue that is the way we all like you.

  6. Is there such a thing as normal? If so then I have never come across it.

    1. Normal is vastly over rated 😁❤

  7. Love it, shame it took me such a big portion of my life to realise there is no normal, I am me and that is that!

  8. What is normal? It is all a matter of what we see through our own eyes and feel through our own heart. We each have our own normal and wise and caring people leave other's normal alone!

  9. Love these two little posters! The older I get, the less inclined I am to explain myself to anyone or to live like anyone else thinks I should. Meg:)

  10. For every not-great person who might comment, there are at least one ok person like me who have learned so much from you and incorporate things that you showed me here on your blog every single day into our life here. You have changed the way I do things. You showed me how to be brave with the freezer and I will be forever grateful to you.

Please do not let those not-great people take YOU away from the ok people like me? :)

Maybe switching to wordpress where you can block commentators by IP address and put specific words into a filter so comments containing those words go to the spam bin or to moderation might be a good thing to consider. Blogger is caring less and less about people these days as far as support from what I can tell, anyway.

Anyway Sue, I adore you and I know I am not the only one. *hugs* and much love.

    1. I think you are thinking that I am having problems with oinks or spammers, true I always have, any blog with thousands of hits a day is bound to pick up it's share of oddballs and disagreeable folk.

But believe me they do not bother me at all, apart from the time wasting factor. I am not behind the door at telling people I can contact to fuck off, and spam gets deleted as soon as it appears if the spam box doesn't capture it at source.

It's never been idiots that have stopped me from posting, and I have tried to make that clear over and over.

I am not keen on Wordpress ... much too complicated when compared to Blogger. They are hard on the readers trying to navigate a blog, this always seems so much more straightforward, so my blogs will remain on Blogger 😊

    2. I'm sorry, perhaps I missed a post where this was explained. :)

I just knew one of the other bloggers was having a lot of trouble with that issue around the time you vanished and I made an assumption that troublesome person had migrated to other blogs as others had stopped posting around the same time, my bad! :/

I wasn't sure what it was that stopped me being able to read more from you. I just knew I missed reading your posts. Glad to hear it is not that, then. :)

Unfortunately after the google reader debacle, the feedburner takeover where support for it vanished entirely once Google took it on, and now this most recent issue with comments not being sent to blog owners, I am worried that google is not bothered (aka not making enough money out of blogger) to support blogger as well as they once did. But then again I have also struggled to get support for gmail, so it might just be that they are Not Great at customer service overall and not that they are neglecting blogger.

Then again the wordpress support forums are Not Great either, I am just lucky I have my own inhouse tech guru to sort most of that stuff out for me. :)

    3. You AND EVERYONE ELSE stopped being able to see my blog for a while because I decided to temporarily remove it while I thought some things through. That's all - simple as that!!

    4. I'm sorry, Sue. :( Clearly I have got the wrong end of the stick and I seem to have upset or angered you in the process and that certainly was not my intention at all, and now I'm upset, too. I hate when I say something that is not taken how I meant it especially when I am saying it to someone I greatly respect and because of my Aspergers it happens a lot more than I like. I'm so sorry.

    5. You haven't angered me at all, you are just not reading things the way I am meaning them. Let's just leave it at that. ☺

  11. If there is a normal then I'm not it lol. Be you Sue, that's who we love. Have a great day x

  12. I am not at all normal. In fact I don't even know what normal is. Always be yourself is my motto.

    God bless.

  13. Our youngest son spent a lot of time in hospital when he was tiny.
It gave me great comfort when his consultant said that the only normal child
was one that hadn’t had enough tests done on it!
The reason I love your blog is that it's honest and you share some of your
failures as well as lots of interesting ideas, recipes, etc.
It's taken me a long time to realise I am allowed to say “no thank you”
    without giving a reason.
I'm not anyone else, I’m special because I’m me but that doesn't entitle me to be selfish.
Of course that means that everyone else is special too and entitled to their own opinions.
What they are not entitled to do is force their beliefs and opinions on anyone else.
I hope you are somewhere lovely and able to relax.
    Sue

  14. Great to see you back Sue. I hope all your flooding has now stopped and is getting repaired. I've loved reading you blog over the years and have used many of your great ideas. Have a great summer.

    1. The flooding has been repaired, unfortunately they caused even more problems when they removed an important valve that controls the water pressure. We have extremely high water pressure here at the bottom of the hill, and the torrent of water unleashed by the removal of a pressure gauge and valve has caused a lot of damage inside the house.
